Benjamin Sanderson est climatologue au CERFACS à Toulouse, en France. Il possède une expertise dans les scénarios d'émissions, l'apprentissage automatique, les rétroactions climatiques et la quantification de l'incertitude. Pendant plus de 10 ans, il a collaboré avec le Centre national de recherche sur l'atmosphère de Boulder, où il a dirigé des projets de conception et d'analyse d'ensembles, et fourni un soutien à la calibration de paramètres pour le projet de modèle de système terrestre communautaire. Depuis septembre 2017, son rôle au CERFACS consiste à développer la capacité d’enquêter sur l’incertitude de projection future du modèle CNRM et d’étudier les processus qui contrôlent la sensibilité au climat dans les modèles CMIP6. Benjamin est l'auteur de l'AR6 du GIEC, auteur principal de la US National Climate Assessment et auteur principal du projet CMIP6 ScenarioMIP.
