Up to Specific issues in real coupled models
I wish to use OASIS as part of the HadGEM3 coupled climate model. Can you confirm that OASIS3-MCT will work with HadGEM3? Mark Cheeseman
Hello Mark, OASIS3-MCT will "work" with HadGEM3 provided you use an appropriate UM and NEMO version (i.e. ones which cater for the interfacing with O3-MCT.) In practice this means UM vn8.4 (or vn8.3 with a number of code branches) and NEMO vn3.2 or 3.4 with suitable code branches. We do not yet have 2nd order conservative remapping set up under O3-MCT, so we're limited to 1st order for now. 2nd order is typically used in HadGEM3 with OASIS3 for ocean -> atmosphere scalar fields, but we haven't got round to catering for this yet. (We can do atmos -> ocean, via a special code branch, but that's just a sort of proof of concept thing because we don't normally expect to use 2nd order for atmos->ocean.) We haven't yet built with version 2.0 of O3-MCT, but have most recently been using CERFACS revision 537 which is vn1.0 with certain extra important fixes and functionality. Richard Hill, met Office
