Does CONSERV interpolation method need 'angle' information?

Hi,

I am using OASIS3-MCT to couple two models. When I apply the CONSERV interpolation method, I am not sure the 'angle' information in the grids.nc is necessary or not.

Hi Jian,

The angle information is not necessary for the CONSERV remapping and it is not used anymore in OASIS3-MCT.

This information was needed in OASIS3 for vector remapping if coupling fields were vector fields defined on a grid which had a local coordinate system not oriented in the zonal and meridional directions (see the OASIS3 User Guide https://oasis.cerfacs.fr/wp-content/uploads/sites/114/2021/02/GLOBC_TR_oasis3_UserGuide.pdf).
